I was invited a couple of weeks ago by a good friend from Mendocino, Bob Rhoades, to submit a mural proposal for an art commission grant. The proposal involves painting both sides of a railway car, to be used as part of a "premium experience" on a popular touring train, where guests will be served exclusive wines and foods from the area. The grant generously offers a cash stipend along with supplies included and hosting in a local hotel.
I won't know the decision for another week, but I have my fingers crossed!
I really like the composition that you have chosen for the railway cars. It's not an easy surface to create on but I think you have captured a balance between the scale of the images and the rail car itself. The choice of image is a good fit for the spirit of Mendocino.I hope you are awarded the project. I look forward to seeing some photos of teh finished work.
